Acupuncture is part of the ancient practice of Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). TCM is a system of healthcare that has evolved over thousands of years to prevent, diagnose, and treat disease. TCM believes that the body's vital energy, called qi (pronounced chi), flows along specific channels or meridians. If the qi is balanced then the person has spiritual, emotional, and physical health. But when the qi isn't in balance, disease may occur. Qi can be blocked, causing unbalance between the yin and yang. This refers to two opposite but connected principles in Chinese philosophy TCM uses many approaches to create harmony between yin and yang and restore correct flow of energy through the meridians. One of these approaches is acupuncture. The human body has more than 2,000 acupuncture points. They are linked through the various channels. The use of acupuncture on certain points within the meridians is believed to improve the flow of blocked or stagnant qi. Acupuncture can unblock these channels. This restores movement of qi and improves health.

The actual practice of acupuncture includes placing thin needles into the skin on certain points of a meridian. Studies have shown that acupuncture works well for many conditions such as stress, digestive disorders, hormonal and sexual organ imbalances, infertility, sleep issues, MSK injuries, headaches, migraines, breech presenting babies, birth prep and labour outcomes, anxiety, depression and many more.

Lacy has been a practicing Acupuncturist since 2019. She studied at Pacific Rim College here in Victoria, BC. Prior to that she was living in Alberta working as a Physical Therapy Assistant in Acute Care Hospitals and finishing a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies at U of C. Her own battles with stress and health issues, especially Crohn’s Disease led her to discovering the benefits of Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine. She was so fascinated with how it helped me that I made a career out of it.

Her approach to health is a blend of Traditional Chinese Medicine education along with my experience in the Western Medical world. She loves helping people with acupuncture because she can focus on the systemic patterns that present imbalances as well as focus on specific pains and symptoms. Lacy has special interest in treating pain, autoimmunity, mental health, digestive and fertility/hormonal imbalances.

Hi, I’m Calum. I’m a registered clinical counsellor (BCACC #23339) with a Master’s in Counselling Psychology. My approach to counselling is rooted in empathy and collaboration, helping you find balance, healing, and well-being. I most often work with people facing anxiety, life transitions, and self-esteem challenges. I also have a particular interest in conflict - whether external, relational, or internal - that creates repetitive, hurtful patterns.

From my experiences as both a client and practitioner, I’m a strong believer in counselling’s ability to help people move through life’s difficult periods. I’m genuinely honoured that you’re considering working with me. Please know I’m committed to supporting you with care, respect, and dedication during our time together.

Before becoming a counsellor I held a variety of roles focused on helping others - whether they were building prosthetics for children, playing rugby at the Olympics, or building stronger communities. At the core of my work has always been the goal of creating safety, trust, and connection, and I bring that same commitment into my counselling practice.

Outside of counselling, you’ll usually find me outdoors with my daughter, wife and Timber - our flat-coated retriever mix. I can’t seem to walk past a bike shop without being drawn in, and Timber is the same with anywhere he thinks might have treats.
